Midlist Farm Bed & Breakfast

Bed & Breakfast in Halkyn

Summary

North Wales Buffalo Bed & Breakfast is an easily accessible, rurally located farm just five minutes from the national road network (A55). There are traditional market towns, sandy beaches, medieval castles, country villages with cosy pubs and open countryside within a few minutes drive.

You will receive a warm welcome to our modern low carbon farmhouse in the heart of our livestock farm. You will have exclusive use of the first floor accommodation making it ideal for family or friends. The guest rooms are of a very high standard and consist of one double room with sitting area and one twin bedded room and a bathroom. Both bedrooms have free view television with DVD and tea making facilities. The rooms are large and more beds or a cot can be added to each room. All meals use home produced food whenever possible. There is a selection of breakfast and if you choose a full Welsh breakfast you will enjoy home cured bacon and sausage from our own pigs as well as eggs which you can collect for yourselves from our own free range hens.

Local pubs provide excellent evening meals. You will be free to roam down the fields to see our herd of Asian Water Buffalo, the saddleback pig families and our flock of sheep as well as a host of wild animals, birds and flowers.

The views are overlooking the Dee and Mersey estuaries with further views as far as the Lake District, Yorkshire, Cheshire and Derbyshire. We are situated on the edge of Halkyn Mountain (Mynydd Helygain) - a two thousand acre open access moorland which is steeped in history and proud of its hillfort (Halkyn mountain is adjacent to the Clwydian Range).

First night £35 per person per night (£30 per person subsequent nights) based on 2 sharing.

Did you know? On a clear day you can see eight counties from our house. Just ten minutes walk from us there are Roman roads and a hillfort. Until the 18th century the ports on the Dee River were the major trading ports of the area - far more important than the Mersey.
